Island Cruise
A special highlight in Orebić, about 1.5 hours from Brist, is an island tour with Dalmatien Tours and its owner, Mirko Grepo. We experienced this tour ourselves and were absolutely thrilled. The trip took us to several islands, where we snorkeled, swam, and enjoyed fascinating stories. Soft drinks were included, and for lunch, we were taken to a reasonably priced restaurant. It was an unforgettable experience! Since then, we've happily recommended it to our guests, who have been equally impressed.

Walls of Ston
Ston, a historic town on the Croatian Adriatic coast, is only about 70 km from our vacation home in Brist. This town is globally renowned for the "Walls of Ston," one of the longest fortified city walls in Europe, often referred to as the "European counterpart to the Great Wall of China." Constructed in the 14th century to protect valuable salt pans, these impressive walls stretch for over 5 kilometers, connecting Ston with the smaller town of Mali Ston.
The Walls of Ston testify to the historical significance of salt production in the region, a tradition dating back to antiquity that made Ston one of the most important centers of the medieval Republic of Ragusa. Today, visitors can stroll along the well-preserved walls, offering spectacular views of the surrounding landscape and the Adriatic Sea. This walk not only provides unique insights into medieval architecture and history but also into the significance of salt for the region's development.
In addition to the fascinating history of the walls, Ston is also known for its culinary specialties, particularly its oysters and mussels, cultivated in the clean waters of the Bay of Mali Ston.
